Installation

Learn how to install and activate BreakMade on your WordPress site.

Installing BreakMade is straightforward. Follow these steps to get started with the plugin on your WordPress site.

Requirements

Before installing BreakMade, ensure your environment meets these requirements:

  • WordPress: Version 5.6 or higher
  • PHP: Version 7.4 or higher
  • Breakdance: The Breakdance page builder must be installed and activated
  • Server: Standard WordPress hosting requirements

Installation Methods

Method 1: Upload via WordPress Admin

  1. Download the BreakMade plugin ZIP file from your purchase confirmation email or your BreakMade account
  2. Navigate to Plugins → Add New in your WordPress admin
  3. Click Upload Plugin at the top of the page
  4. Choose the downloaded ZIP file and click Install Now
  5. After installation completes, click Activate Plugin

Method 2: FTP/SFTP Upload

  1. Download and extract the BreakMade plugin ZIP file
  2. Connect to your server via FTP/SFTP
  3. Navigate to /wp-content/plugins/
  4. Upload the entire breakmade folder
  5. Go to Plugins in your WordPress admin and activate BreakMade

Post-Installation Setup

After activating BreakMade, you’ll be redirected to the plugin settings page. Here’s what to do next:

1. Activate Your License

If you have a Pro license:

  1. Go to BreakMade → License in your WordPress admin
  2. Enter your license key from your purchase confirmation
  3. Click Activate

Your license status will be displayed in the BreakMade dashboard.

2. Install Default Design Set

The design set provides the foundation for your BreakMade experience:

  1. Navigate to BreakMade in your WordPress admin
  2. Click Set Default Design Set
  3. Choose “Layers” (recommended) or another design set
  4. Click Install

3. Install Color Palette

Set up your color system:

  1. In the BreakMade settings, find the Color Palette section
  2. Click Install Default Palette
  3. The palette will sync with your Breakdance global colors

4. Install Typography Presets

Configure your typography:

  1. Find the Typography section
  2. Click Install Typography Presets
  3. This adds fluid, responsive typography to your Breakdance settings

Verifying Installation

To verify BreakMade is working correctly:

  1. Open the Breakdance editor on any page
  2. You should see the BreakMade design variables available in the editor
  3. Check Global Settings in Breakdance to see the installed color palette and typography presets

Troubleshooting

Plugin Won’t Activate

  • Ensure Breakdance is installed and activated
  • Check that your PHP version is 7.4 or higher
  • Verify WordPress is version 5.6 or higher

Missing Design Variables

  • Re-install the default design set from BreakMade settings
  • Clear any caching plugins after installation
  • Refresh the Breakdance editor

License Issues

  • Ensure you’re using the correct license key
  • Check that your domain matches your registered domains
  • Contact support if issues persist
